Mundo Browser

Overview & Objective
A modern desktop web browser engineered from the ground up on .NET 10 and Microsoft WebView2. Designed for content-first immersion and strict local privacy: zero telemetry, local profile storage, in-process network filtering using compiled FrozenSet<string> domain lookups, and automated cookie consent dismissal. Features native dual-pane Split-View for side-by-side multitasking without multiple windows, and an intelligent EcoMode background tab discarder that reclaims up to 1.3 GB of RAM (19.4%) under heavy 35-tab sessions while maintaining 1.09% idle CPU consumption. Empirically validated across 10 hardware configurations against Chrome, Edge, and Brave.
1. Overview & Architectural Vision
Modern web browsers have become cluttered and heavy, burdened by continuous background telemetry, intrusive ad-trackers, cookie consent banners, and massive memory bloat. Mundo Browser provides an ultra-fast, minimalist alternative for productivity and research with four guiding pillars:
Content-First Immersion
Interface stays out of the way: sleek 4px scrollbars, retractable navigation and address bars (CTRL+E), and native Windows 11 Mica/Acrylic backdrops.
Built-in Multitasking
Native dual-pane Split-View lets users browse two pages side-by-side or stacked horizontally/vertically without managing multiple OS windows.
Privacy by Design
Strict local storage in %APPDATA%/MundoBrowser/WebView2Data. Zero remote analytics, zero tracking, and automated cookie banner dismissal.
Resource Discipline
EcoMode tab discarding unloads inactive memory while preserving page state for instant reloading upon focus.
2. Standardized Empirical Benchmark Matrix
To evaluate real-world performance, standardized automated benchmarks were recorded across 10 distinct physical hardware configurations (laptops to multi-core workstations) over 5 high-demand scenarios:

3. Key Analytical Findings
1. Idle Energy Efficiency: Mundo Browser records just 1.09% CPU utilization during idle operation (vs 6.19% on Chrome and 4.58% on Edge), significantly extending laptop battery autonomy. 2. Peak Load Containment: During heavy 35-tab concurrency, peak CPU spikes remained constrained at 14.80%, compared to 45.60% on Chrome and 34.10% on Edge, preventing OS stuttering. 3. Memory Recovery: EcoMode automatically reclaimed 1,328 MB of memory during peak sprawl, keeping active system memory responsive.
