Exolia Ecosystem Architecture
Overview & Objective
A central monorepo orchestrating the distributed architecture for the Exolia gaming network. Spans low-level client modifications (Forge 1.12.2 coremod framework injections and Forge 1.16.5 custom rendering pipelines), a high-performance Spigot server backend using HikariCP asynchronous database connection pooling to keep the tick loop non-blocking, and a standalone Java desktop launcher and auto-updating bootstrapper.
Core Modules Overview
ExoliaCoremod & Osalys Mods (Client Modifications)
Forge 1.12.2 low-level bytecode injections and Forge 1.16.5 custom rendering pipelines and client-server packet synchronization.
OsalysPlugin (Server-Side Backend)
High-throughput Spigot 1.16.2 plugin leveraging HikariCP asynchronous MySQL connection pooling to keep the game tick loop unblocked.
ExoliaLauncher & Bootstrap (Desktop Application)
Bespoke Java desktop application managing authentication, asset streaming, JVM execution parameters, and automated updates.
Key Engineering Highlights
Unified Multi-Project Gradle Build
Unified disparate build configurations across Forge 1.12.2 (Java 8), Forge 1.16.5, and Spigot (Java 16+) into a centralized Gradle multi-project architecture with ShadowJar.
Asynchronous High-Throughput Backend
Engineered Spigot server modules with HikariCP asynchronous MySQL connection pooling and Redis synchronization, ensuring heavy database transactions never block the primary tick loop.
Client-Side Modding & Render Pipelines
Implemented bytecode injection with ExoliaCoremod and custom rendering/packet synchronization pipelines across Forge event buses.
Desktop Launcher & Resilient Bootstrap
Built a standalone Java desktop application with automated asset downloads, JVM runtime configuration, and an independent auto-updating bootstrapper.
